As a leading international auto importer and exporter, we know that dealing with shipping logistics, interpreting custom laws, and preparing the required documentation for importing and exporting vehicles can be overwhelming. That’s why you need an experienced auto transport carrier to handle all your logistics and documentation for international vehicle shipping.

Whether you want to ship to the UK, Germany, France, Israel, or Australia, Trans Global Auto Logistics is here to help every step of the way. For instance, if you want to bring a car to the U.S., it must meet specific legal requirements to prove that it’s safe to drive on the road. Some exceptions may apply if the vehicle is more than 25 years old or will be used for less than a year. Working with an international auto importer helps you understand and comply with all the legal requirements.

All vehicles imported to the U.S. must also have their original engines and should not have any modifications. This rule applies to cars, trucks, boats, and recreational vehicles. We know that some requirements can be confusing. If you’re unsure about anything, consult our knowledgeable auto importer team to help set up a USDOT and EPA Compliance Review. An experienced attorney with expertise in international vehicle shipping will do the review.

Choosing The Best Shipping Option For Your Needs

Whether you’re looking to ship a classic collector car, a motorcycle, a motorhome, or a travel trailer, we have the solution for you. We will develop the ideal auto import/export plan to suit your needs based on your vehicle type, final destination, budget, and timeline. Our primary carrier types for international vehicle shipping are our container shipping options, Roll On Roll Off (RORO), and air freight shipping.

Shared container shipping places your vehicle in a container alongside other vehicles. While transit time may be a bit slower, all fees are shared between customers using the container, making this a more affordable option that even works for non-running vehicles. Dedicated container shipping is also available, where your vehicle is the only one in the container. Although costs are higher than shared container shipping, this auto import method is one of our quickest options other than air freight and even allows you to transport other items inside the vehicle.

Roll On Roll Off (RORO) ships your vehicle on a vessel that acts as a floating parking garage, driving your vehicle into the ship before securing it for the journey. This option is for cars in good running condition and allows for competitive rates and faster transit times than our container options. Finally, air freight is one of our specialty auto import methods and can be an excellent option for collector’s cars. Air freight is the most expensive option for our very fastest transit times.

Whichever method of auto import/export you choose, we strive to make your international vehicle shipping process as easy and stress-free as possible.

Yes, we ship to multiple locations worldwide, including the United Kingdom, Germany, and many more.

In general, international vehicle shipping costs are calculated by weight and distance. There are some exceptions to this rule, but it never hurts to assume that distance plays a big part in determining how much it will cost to ship an item overseas. You should also remember that some countries require special documents for imported goods. Our auto importer team can help you identify the specific documents needed, as they may add extra charges beyond what you were quoted upfront when you made shipping arrangements.

The cheapest way to ship a car overseas is by sea freight.

A number of documents are required for international vehicle shipping by sea. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Certificate of Ownership
  • Vehicle Import Permit
  • Bill of Lading
  • Certificate of Origin
  • Certificate of Importation/Exportation
  • Customs Declaration Form/Priority Dispatch Release Order

You can check with our auto importer team to find the documents needed to ship your vehicle.

Are there any restrictions on shipping an EV or Hybrid?

At this time, we regret to inform you that we are unable to accommodate the shipment of EVs due to current restrictions from many ocean carriers. We do have limited options for Hybrids so depending on the destination, we may not be able to offer service. The primary issue that ocean carriers face with electric and hybrid vehicles stems from safety concerns related to the batteries. These concerns include the risk of fire and the complexity of managing such incidents on board, which have led many carriers to pause the acceptance of these vehicles temporarily. We are actively monitoring the situation and working with industry partners to find viable solutions that ensure the safety of all shipments.
