International Vehicle Shipping — How It Works

Trans Global Auto Logistics is a licensed Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC) regulated by the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC). That means we issue our own ocean bills of lading, negotiate directly with ocean carriers, and take full responsibility for your shipment from origin to destination. You deal with one company, one point of contact, and one bill — not a chain of middlemen.

Most vehicles ship via Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) service, where your car, truck, or SUV is driven onto a specialized vessel and secured below deck. RoRo is the most cost-effective method for standard vehicles and is available on major trade lanes to Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific. For oversized vehicles, boats, or shipments that need extra protection, we also offer container shipping — your vehicle is loaded into a 20ft or 40ft container, braced, and sealed for transit.

A standard sedan shipped RoRo from the East Coast to Bremerhaven, Germany typically runs between $1,200 and $2,500. Larger vehicles, remote destinations, and container shipments cost more. Military PCS shipments for a second POV vary by route — we offer competitive rates specifically for service members.

Additional costs may include inland transport to the origin port, export documentation fees, marine insurance, and destination port charges.
